Chernobyl nuclear power plant

Chernobyl nuclear power plant:
The Chernobyl nuclear power plant is located near the town of Prypiat in the Ukraine. The worst Nuclear reactor accident in the history took place here on April 26 of 1986. On this date the reactor number four at the Chernobyl plant exploded killing 30 people immediatelly and almost 90.000 the 23 years after the ramp due to radiation. Below you can see an aerial view of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant as it was before the disaster:

After the explotion took place the area was evacuated in a radius of 30 kilometers around the nuclear plant. This is still the case today. The towns of Prypiat and Chernobyl (the biggest cities in the 30 km radius) turned into ghost towns:

In this town of Prypiat (seen in the pictures above) there are many famous places that
still remember people what disaster took place here in 1986. For example this hotel ( featured in call of duty 4: modern warfare):

And of course the famous ferris wheel in the park of rest with the empty commieblocks in the background:

It is estimated that it takes 1500 years before the radiation is sufficiently low to make the area around the nuclear plant habitable again.
